THE ASK
When the Wildlife Conservation Society wanted to create an immersive budgie exhibit at the Bronx Zoo, staff members turned to Sprung for an aviary building solution that would ensure an enjoyable and educational experience for visitors while providing a safe and airy environment for the birds.
HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED
Sprung delivered a 40’ x 105’ aviary structure to house the zoo’s seasonal Budgie Landing exhibit. Featuring a bright, clear-span interior and built-in mesh screens on the lower portion of its membrane, the structure provides ample space for visitors to watch and safely interact with more than 1,000 boisterous and colorful budgies. The exhibit was designed to replicate the dry, open woodlands and grasslands of Australia, where budgies have thrived for more over five million years.
