THE ASK
Sprung designed and delivered a 40’ x 60’ greenhouse for West Island College and its newly established Garden Club. The greenhouse had to be installed on a sloped and uneven asphalt parking lot, requiring the creation of custom-fabricated specialty base plates. The structure was then anchored into place with base plate pins and earth anchors, which were driven several feet into the ground.
Completed ahead of schedule and on budget, the greenhouse provides students at West Island College with an ideal growing environment, no matter the conditions outside.
HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED
Within just 19 days, Sprung delivered and built an innovative structure made with our patented tensioned membrane technology. Measuring 137,250 square feet, the building is large enough to house two and a half football fields or 122 Model 3 sedans. The Model 3 assembly line was constructed simultaneously inside the sprawling Sprung building, enabling production to start while the structure itself was being finished. Built at a fraction of the cost of conventional construction, the structure provided a perfect solution to Tesla’s production line expansion.
