THE ASK

As part of their ongoing efforts to enhance the skier experience at Sundance Mountain Resort, stakeholders wanted to add a new day lodge to the resort’s operations. Having recently expanded the upper parking lots near Jake’s Lift, the resort team identified a nearby spot—the Mountain Camp area—as an ideal location for a large, mixed-use building that could house a variety of ski services under one roof. Sprung was approached for a fast and economical solution.

HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED

Sprung designed and delivered a fully insulated 70’ wide x 112.5’ long structure that now sits adjacent to the expanded parking areas and steps away from Jake’s Lift. Collectively, this area has been renamed Mountain Camp. Called the Mountain Camp Day Lodge, this state-of-the-art building provides skiers with access to a variety of services—including ticketing, equipment rentals, a snow-sports school, ski patrol access, locker rooms and a cafe—in one convenient location.

The structure, which took less than six months to complete, boasts nearly 10,000 square feet of bright, clear-span space. Featuring large vestibules for ease of entry and an attractive exterior that blends in beautifully with its natural surroundings, the Mountain Camp Day Lodge serves to enhance the overall guest experience at Sundance Mountain Resort.
