THE ASK
Princeton has an admirable residential program that provides students with housing, dining and academic advising on campus. First- and second-year undergraduate students are required to live in one of Princeton’s seven residential colleges, each of which offer a close-knit, comfortable atmosphere where residents sleep, eat, study, and socialize.
Recent renovations at the university included the demolition of a kitchen and dining area that normally serves two of the residential colleges on campus. While students at one of these residential colleges could move to a nearby location, students at Butler College were going to be left without a dining facility throughout the multi-year construction process. So, Princeton turned to Sprung for an interim solution.
HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED
Sprung delivered a flat-ended, fully insulated 40’x 60’ structure to serve as a temporary dining facility for Princeton students. Featuring attractive glazing walls on two sides, the bright and welcoming structure connects to an existing community hall through a conventionally built corridor and provides the residents of Butler College with plenty of comfortable space for dining and socializing.
