THE ASK
Collingwood is growing, and local officials have been working to ensure that the town’s infrastructure, as well as its sports and recreational facilities, will meet the needs of current and future residents — at a manageable cost. Collingwood already has a historic, downtown ice arena, but its budding population and increasing visitor numbers led to the decision that an additional ice surface was needed.
HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED
Collingwood now has a second ice-rink for year-round use, located in the town’s Central Park. Complementing the older Eddie Bush Arena, the new rink features a full-size ice surface (85’ x 200’) complete with premium dasher boards and glass. The structure also features interior spectator seating for 390 people, an upper mezzanine lounge for viewing, six dressing rooms (including one reserved solely for female players) and a referee room with capacity for eight people. There is also a lounge available to rent for special events
and presentations.
