THE ASK
NDOT initially needed just one low-maintenance, relocatable structure for storing salt and sand to service its roads. The structure had to withstand Nevada’s harsh climate and high winds.
HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED
NDOT purchased its first Sprung structure in 1994. The structure stood, undamaged, for 19 years in the same spot in Washoe Valley between Reno and Carson City, an area known for extremely strong winds. NDOT was so pleased with the performance of this original structure that the department purchased an additional 21 Sprung structures for locations throughout the state.
