THE ASK
In late 2021, the Federation of Table Tennis of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided that a new table tennis center was needed in the city of Shymkent due to the sport’s significant rise in popularity among the city’s youth. With more than 20 years of experience building in Kazakhstan, and more than 20 structures in use across the country, Sprung was selected to provide the building. The federation chose to go with Sprung because of the unparalleled quality, speed of delivery and rapid construction of our structures.
HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED
Located in downtown Shymkent, next door to the city’s soccer stadium and swimming pool, the Table Tennis Center is a beautiful venue designed both for training and for international competitions.
Nodding to local cultural tradition, the center was designed to look like a Kazakh yurt and features enough space to accommodate 12 tennis tables, as well as administrative offices, locker rooms, coaches’ quarters, a first aid room and plenty of spectator seating on the mezzanine floor. The liner of the Table Tennis Center features gray and tan membranes in the playing area and a white membrane for the office area, which is also equipped with large windows for extra natural light.
