THE ASK
While preparing for the influx of students returning to in-person learning after the COVID-19 pandemic, Cincinnati Public Schools recognized an urgent need for additional lunchroom space at Walnut Hills High School. Stakeholders turned to Sprung for a fast and cost-effective solution, and it was quickly determined that building a Sprung structure over the school’s recently refurbished tennis courts would enhance the long-term value of the facility by allowing it to serve more than one function.
HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED
Sprung designed and delivered a spacious, 140’ x 321.5’ structure that now covers six full-sized tennis courts at Walnut Hills High School. As planned, the fully insulated facility functions as a high-performance tennis court enclosure while serving double duty as indoor seating space for students during their lunch break. The brightly lit, clear-span structure can also be used as an exam area when needed.
